This was a cute little deviation from other books. It didn't take very long to read. I think a ten year old would really enjoy it. I appreciated the fact that the story didn't end when Felicity and co. found out who the culprit was, and that more things had to be done besides just solving the riddle. As always, enjoyed the "looking back" section as well!

Felicity and her friend Elizabeth set out to discover who in Williamsburg has falsely accused Fiona's father of helping the British. Then Felicity's father is accused, too!I appreciated the "The Looking Back: A Peek into the Past," which gave historical credibility to the story.

felicity's friend fiona is bumming hard because someone has published broadsides accusing her father of being a traitor to the patriot cause & has hung them all over williamsburg. he has been called in front of the committee of safety to answer to the charges. felicity is well aware that a person found guilty of being a royal loyalist may be forced to leave the colony, because that's exactly what happened to her friend elizabeth's father. felicity tries to tell fiona not to worry, that every [...]

It is April 1776 in Williamsburg, Virginia, where eleven-year-old Felicity Merriman lives with her family. It is shortly after the beginning of the American Revolution, and with the royal governor having fled Williamsburg, the town is now ruled by the Committee of Safety, a group of Patriots who try to identify those with Loyalist sympathies who may be aiding the British. But the anti-Loyalist sentiments are causing some innocent men to be accused as well, such as the father of Felicity‘s frie [...]

Felicity is alarmed when mysterious notices appear in Williamsburg, falsely accusing her friend Fiona's father of helping the British. With the Revelution heating up, Felicity knows that the accusations will bring danger to Fiona's family. Then Felicity's father is accused of being a traitor too, and Felicity decides that she has to find out who's making the terrible accusations!Gotta love a good mystery! I've read this a couple times and enjoyed it both times.I read it once when it was fairly n [...]

The British Revolution was just starting. Accusations are going around and worrying families. Who would do this? Even the most obvious patriots are being accused of pretending. The main character, Felicity, is going to help her neighbors.I think Felicity changed the most. In the beginning she is confused about the accusations and worried someone will get hurt. She was kinda hide in the shadows and in the end she had kicked it up and trys to help. But she learns life isn't always easy.I like the [...]

I was excited to read this with my 8 year old since we're on our way to visit CW (Colonial Williamsburg). :) The story line keeps you wanting more. history, more intrigue, more time to read! The description of the political tensions are just enough to help appreciate the trials of the times (e.g. patriots vs. loyalists). The descriptions of broadsides and printing provide a great contrast to how news travels now. As is typical, Felicity shows herself to be an intelligent young lady, illustrating [...]

I was not too impressed with this Felicity mystery, for several reasons. While I like Elizabeth McDavid Joers as a writer (she did some great work with the History Mystery series), I don't think she really "gets" Felicity. With a Valerie Tripp Felicity novels there was a sense of character development. In Traitor in Williamsburg, this is really lacking, and Felicity is very stagnant. I will say that the "mystery" in this is much more developed then other American Girl mysteries. Mostly because t [...]

America is at war with England fighting for independence, when a newspaper in Williamsburg begins printing accusations against people, accusing them of being loyalists for England and traitors to the colonists tensions arise, things are even worse when Felicity's father is accused of selling goods to the British Army. Felicity knows these accusations aren't true, who could have such a vendetta against her father? Who would print such dangerous lies? Felicity is determined to find out before her [...]

I liked this book because it was funny and good.It was about a girl called Felicity who solves a mystery.Someone is putting false notices up about Felicity's friend Fiona's father and eventually Fiona's family moves away. Then someone puts up more false notices about Felicity's father. In the end, Felicity finds out it was mean Mr.Putter, who made his nephew do it.

Who do you trust? The Safety Committee is looking for anyone who isn't patriotic - and someone is accusing innocent people at great cost. Danger, thrills, a night in a graveyard - all the elements of a good mystery with a good dose of history added in.

As the American Revolution draws closer to home for the charactors of the series, questions and suspicions are bond to come up. The mysteries keep you in suspence and teach a lot about the time frame.

*SPOILERS*Pretty good book but I had figured it out at the second mention of Mr. Capps. I wasn't sure how and everything but I started making sense at about chapter 8 (out of 14). I feel after that the story dragged a little bit more until chapter 12. Overall it is a good story

I loved Felicity as a child, and still admire her spunk as an adult. I will be happy to add this book to my classroom library. This book mentions many things that we discuss in my social studies class when we are going over the colonies/Revolution etc.

Actual rating: 4.5 stars I really enjoyed this book because it's set in my favorite time in history, and because it's a wonderful story.

A fun read! Though I could have used more Felicity mischievousness. was told by the author, not shown in the character.

I loved this book.I'm doing my history in the 1700s and these books are great for my free time. While Its fiction, you are still learning about that time in history.

It was a pretty good book altogether since I have read a few books by the author. I am a mystery girl and this is a pretty good mystery book.

A much better mystery than Peril at King's Creek. The story has many pieces that Felicity puts together with the help of her friends and ultimately they solve the mystery.
