I’ve been tipsy with anticipation waiting for the release of this third installment of the Brewing Trouble Mysteries. After I stayed up all night reading A ROOM WITH A BREW, I woke with a severe readers’ hangover. This third entry wasn't as enjoyable for me as the first two books in the series. I read this series because it's about a brewer who happens to solve mysteries when they come her way. This on had far to little about the art of brewing or even just how the restaurant/ brew pub runs. Too much art and not enough beer, and that's from a guy who doesn't even drink. o͡͡͡╮༼ • ʖ̯ • ༽╭o͡͡͡I hope book 4 features more of the brew/food. I'll keep reading.

I slid onto an old piano stool as Daisy Hart placed the fall centerpiece she'd designed on the distress wood counter in her flower shop, Beautiful Blooms.Max O'Hara is preparing for her first Oktoberfest at Allegheny Brew House. The house chef and Max' boyfriend, Jake is preparing the menu as Max brews the beers. 4.25 starsI wasn't sure if it was a good idea to jump into this series with book 3, but it turned out to be no problem. I easily became familiar with the setting and the characters. The story flowed well and I was hooked in no time. I finished it way faster than I had expected too and I already miss the story.Max is a brewer who is gearing up for a huge brewfest holiday.Oktoberfest! All she wanted to do was hire an authentic bandbut when tragedy strikes one of the members, she is sucked into ano [...]

This third book in the Brewing Trouble series finds Max O’Hara, owner of the Allegheny Brew House in Pittsburgh, getting ready to host her first Oktoberfest celebration. The author manages to combine an exciting blend of cold war intrigue, oompah bands, tasty brews, a discovered priceless masterpiece, and murder.Max’s friend, Candy, a seventy-something old cupcake bakery owner, has had minor roles in the previous two books but in A ROOM WITH A BREW, she takes center stage. I’ve always been [...]

I've been wanting to read the third book in this series since I finished the second one, and it was worth the wait! I was happy to delve back into Max's life, with her friends Candy, Kristie and Daisy, her boyfriend/employee Jake, and her big, loving family. This story was really interesting, as we learn more about Candy's history and we meet two people from her past. We also meet some musicians in an oompah band Max has hired for her Oktoberfest celebration, and her parents' new neighbors, an a [...]

"A Room With a Brew" is a cozy mystery. It's the third book in a series, but you can understand this book without reading the previous ones. However, this book did spoil certain events and motives in the previous mysteries (though not specifically whodunit). The heroine and her friends were generally nice people. Max made some bad assumptions while investigating but at least took some basic precautions when dealing with potentially dangerous people. While I was able to figure out most of the who [...]

A slightly different setting for a Cozy read (for me) instead of a quiet, quaint and charming little town we are taken to the outskirts of Pittsburgh. I found it to be an interesting kind kept me on the edge of my seat page turner from the very beginning. Chapter 1 had me interested and turning the pages all the way to the end.Room with a Brew is a fun story/themed filled with interesting characters. I couldn't help but think of the Umpa Band in the movie Home Alone and picture John Candy as I r [...]

Wow!  This was a really suspenseful read.  This was my first book by this author and I was pleasantly surprised.  I'll definitely be going back to read the previous books in this series.  Even with being new to this author and series, the characters were very well developed and I got a pretty good idea about who the characters were and everything.  The brewpub was a really neat idea for the setting of this series and I enjoyed reading about the process of making the beer.  I was a little [...]

This is the third installment in what I find to be a very enjoyable cozy mystery series. Once again, Max is in the wrong place at the wrong time and discovers another dead body. This time her friend Candy is implicated and Max's Marauder's are out to prove she had nothing to due with this murder. I really enjoy these characters. Max is growing into her own as a pub owner, an amateur sleuth and in her relationship with Jake. It was fun to learn more about Candy and her background as well. Each of [...]

A Room With a Brew by Joyce Tremel was a great afternoon read. I request this series from my library as soon as I see that they have ordered the books.A swiftly paced plot with plenty of twists, turns and we finally get to find out about Candy's history. There's more than murder involved as Max is trying to prepare for her first Oktoberfest at her brew pub. We also got to meet two new neighbors during this book and I hope to see more of them as the series progresses. And we finally got to meet J [...]

This fabulous cozy is the third in the series set in a Pittsburgh brew pub. I've loved the series from the beginning and love the setting (confession: I've lived in Pittsburgh for most of my adult life and love the city). So, we have a good mystery, an intelligent female heroine and her posse of slightly eccentric friends. What's not to like? By the time you add in all the Pittsburgh idiocyncrasies you have a real winner. Highly recommended.

This is a fun series to read. I liked that it was set around Oktoberfest which is always a fun time of year especially for craft brewers. It was fun to meet up with Max again and to see what she is up to. The author does a good job of giving you just enough clues to make you think you know what happened but then here comes another twist. For me that makes a good mystery book. I picked this book up and by the end of the weekend was finished with it. I enjoy this author's writing style and am look [...]

I love everything about this series - great mystery, characters, lovable heroine, supportive boyfriend and Candy! The book blended the past and present beautifully and I always enjoy Max's family!A keep you guessing mystery! Waiting for the next book!

Very good story line. There was a nice amount of false leads that keeps one guessing. It was kind of like Castle meets How to Steal a Million. I enjoyed it very much.

A member of an oompa band that is to perform at Max's brew pub. Now Max is out to figure out why,This is an excellent installment in the Brewing Trouble series. Max is faced with a murder as, once again she finds the body. The police don't listen to her and there she is solving the murder for them. I liked the story. I figured out the why but not the who. I was surprised by the who as well as the follow-up activity. Some new characters are introduced. They fit into the story just fine. I hope the [...]

This series has such a unique fall fee to it. A woman who owns a brew pub and happens to solve crimes in her spare time? Sign me up!In A Room with a Brew, Max O’Hara is back in the third installment of the Brewing Trouble Mystery Series. When one of the band members she hired to play at the BrewPub for Oktoberfest is found murdered, Max finds herself thrown into the middle of yet another murder investigation.Take a seat, crack open a cold one, and get ready to enjoy a great book. Being from one of the major brewing capitals in the U.S. (although we wear more Green and Gold) and having spent time as an Oktoberfest wench myself, love those giant prtezels, this book called loudly to me. I could not resist and I was not disappointed. Joyce Tremel has created a wonderful community of friends and in this book, a series of complicated twists and turns that read like a beloved black and white noir film. OOMPAH!Max O'Hara is looking foward to her young brewery's first Oktoberfest [...]

3.75 starsBrewer Maxine O'Hara (Max for short) is back in the third entry in the Brewing Trouble cozy series. Max again finds herself deep in a murder investigation when a member of a band she has hired for Oktoberfest is found dead not long after telephoning her with an urgent and mysterious message. The situation is further complicated by her friend Candy's hidden past and reluctance to tell Max exactly how and when she knew one of the murder suspects. When the police tell Max she's just imagi [...]

I know there's a certain amount of suspension of belief that you need to go into this genre with, but this one was patently unbelievable. (view spoiler)[I'm supposed to believe that Candy is an ex-CIA agent and not only is she ok with letting Max snoop around on her own in the book, but she's been perfectly fine with it in the previous books, too? She hasn't once thought to redirect her or, hell, just completely take over? Because I would assume a CIA agent would have better deductive reasoning [...]

This third book confirm my opinion on the Brewing trouble series, nice, enjoyable but without much excitement nor in the mystery nor in the Max and Jake 's relationship . In fact when the Vermeer's painting come out ,is been easy know the possible evolution of mystery. The side characters are nice while Jake is a incolour figure that live only when his ex show up. Then I don't like like the author repeats the same particolars over and over, for example we read of Max that play with her cat every t [...]
